Advising, Counseling & Career Services

Academic Advising

In order to help students make informed choices and plan their educational programs, both faculty and staff members provide academic advising. All continuing students should make an appointment with the Registrar in order to ensure that they are meeting their academic requirements and, if they so wish, planning for a successful transfer to a baccalaureate program. Information about transfer to local four-year institutions is available in the student lounge.

Career Services

Chatfield College recognizes that career exploration is a life-long endeavor. Chatfield College frequently offers opportunities for students to attend a career-planning seminar. The seminar involves inventories, skills assessment, resume writing, interview preparation, job search skills, and preparation for work. Chatfield College does not view the associate degree as a terminal degree; therefore, the College helps graduates to continue toward completion of a bachelor's degree.

Transfer Advising Fair

Institutions who are members of the Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges and Universities are invited to Chatfield College twice a year to advise current students on transfer. Students and members of the community can sign up for appointments with those attending by contacting the college.

Counseling: Personal & Pastoral

The Offices of Admissions and Registrar coordinate academic advising in consort with the faculty. New students usually meet with  Admissions to select courses. Continuing student usually meet with the Registrar to select courses. Advising sessions can be arranged with faculty from various academic disciplines.

Personal counseling is available to students upon request. Catholic Social Services provides on-campus counseling to Chatfield students. Staff can refer students to a Catholic Social Services trained, professional counselor. Referrals can also be arranged with other area social service agencies upon request.
