Chatfield College Holds 43rd Commencement Exercises

Chatfield College Class of 2014

Chatfield College in St. Martin and Cincinnati, Ohio, held its 43nd commencement exercises on Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m., honoring the largest graduating class in the college’s history.

The ceremony was held in the Sacred Heart Chapel on the St. Martin Campus in northern Brown County. It honored 64 students from both the St. Martin and Cincinnati campuses who either completed the requirements for graduation or will complete the requirements during the summer session.

Graduates who received Associate Degrees were Nathaniel Mitchel Allen, Sara Arthon, Destiny Marie Ashley, Lori Barr, Sarah Elizabeth Berry, Nathan Douglas Bixler, Mariah Hope Blankenship, Nathan Borders, Ricky D. Brown , Kayce Caitlin Cahall , Thomas Cain Cahall, Amanda Widmeyer Clark, David Tousaint Clark, Lillian Maria Clark, Stacey Marie Coder , Sean Michael Conn,Cindy Cook, Andrea Cook-Johnson, Rita Marie Covington, Gloria Marie Daniel, Megan Courtney DeBord Hensley, Joy Ann Dowell, Harvey DuBose Sr., Panda Dumas, Hannah Josephine Dunn, Angela Dawn Ewing, Linda Marie Fantetti, Carmela Faugno, Diane Foster, James Levi Goble, Regina Ann Gray, Maria Barbara Haines, Alisha M. Walker, Zachary West, Michaela A. Williams, Dierdra Wright, Craig Daniel Young.

James Goble and Diane Foster were presented with the first Julia Chatfield Distinguished Student Award. This award is designed to recognize a graduate based on nominations submitted by Chatfield faculty and staff. Besides a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, students who receive this award must exhibit the determination of Julia Chatfield by turning obstacles into opportunities, be friendly, inclusive and supportive in dealing with others and display leadership qualities.

Reverend Reynaldo Taylor, Chatfield graduate and pastor of St. Joseph Church in Cincinnati’s West End, gave the commencement address.

Chatfield also presented its Dean Agatha Fitzgerald, OSU Excellence in Teaching Award to Chatfield graduate and full-time faculty member Douglas Link. This award is given each year to an instructor who exemplifies the academic spirit and values of Chatfield College.
