Since coming to Chatfield, I have been faced with various challenges to try new things and to explore the world and all its possibilities. Whether it is learning how to speak in public, paint, write a paper, or discuss philosophy, Chatfield has encouraged me to challenge myself and to love learning. I have come to love all the teachers and staff at Chatfield, and I am very thankful for all who have taught me and encouraged me to succeed. I feel that Chatfield has given me a good base to move onto a four-year college and many tools to become successful academically.
— Katie Jones, Class of 2009
I had been homeschooled most of my life. So, when I began at Chatfield, I had some doubt as to whether or not I was truly ready for this experience. I was mostly concerned that a classroom environment was something I was no longer accustomed to as a student. Chatfield showed me that I was, indeed, ready. My professors helped me to enjoy the classroom experience, instead of dreading it.
— Josh Robinson, Class of 2009
Chatfield has been amazing, and the experiences here have enriched my life with qualities that I will always carry with me. The professors and the environment here are wonderful. Through my achievements here at Chatfield, I have learned the importance of self-reliance, strong ethics, and perseverance. I have learned the importance of community involvement and how it is the building block to a well-rounded individual. These are all attributes that I will take with me and live by.
— Jillian Rains, Class of 2007
When I first came to Chatfield, I knew immediately that it was the place for me to begin my college career. The atmosphere was so welcoming; the teachers treated their students as equals, and made an effort to get acquainted with each of the students. We weren’t just another body in their classroom.
— Ashlee Morrell, Class of 2007
The individual help that I received from the teachers, staff, and students at Chatfield helped me to realize my potential. Now I am more motivated to take charge of my education, and to seek new educational experiences. Chatfield gave me the educational tools I needed to pursue a career in the medical field.
— Aaron Israel, Class of 2007
During my experience at Chatfield, I was not disappointed in the quality of education that I received. I found that the teachers at Chatfield challenge their students to step out of their comfort zones, and to understand why and how to use their new knowledge.
— Sharon Dome, Class of 2006
Attending college and working full time while raising a family wasn’t easy. But, Chatfield is not your typical college. It’s more than a learning environment; it’s a place of spiritual, mental, and emotional growth. Although Chatfield presented me with many challenges – and, it wasn’t easy – it was all worthwhile.
— Marlin Hampton, Class of 2006
During my time at Chatfield, I fell in love with the school. I made friends that will be friends for a lifetime. I had instructors that were not just instructors, but also became friends. Everyone knew my name, and I felt loved when I went to class. This school helped me on my walk of life, and it’s a stepping stone to help me achieve bigger and better things in this world.
