Do you feel called to a career that helps others? Chatfield College can help you on your way with our social work program, designed for students who intend to seek employment, degree or career advancement within social services organizations.
Once enrolled, you’ll work with instructors who know what it’s really like to work in the social work field, because they’ve been there. You’ll receive personal attention and instruction as you learn to promote social justice and improve the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Chatfield students can also choose to apply for their Social Work Assistant (SWA) certificate, available through the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. This certificate requires that students complete six additional courses to meet the requirements. Please speak with an advisor for more information on this opportunity.
Chatfield College graduates are qualified to work in entry-level social work positions and go on to:
- Earn Bachelors’ and Masters’ degrees.
- Work for nonprofit organizations, for-profit social service agencies, and state and local governments.
- Become substance abuse and behavioral disorder counselors or marriage and family counselors.
Improve the lives of others through crisis intervention through adult and child protective services.
