Saturday Enrichment Program

The summer enrichment program is 6 weeks starting the first full week of June through July 14, and will run for one hour each week, unless otherwise specified. Courses are $40 plus applicable fees which vary according to supplies needed. Some courses are restricted to a capped number, so enroll early. All classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.

1) Hip-Hop Dance Saturdays 9:15am-10:15am June 9 through July 7

Get your heart and body moving while learning the basics of Hip Hop! Also known as Street or Urban dance, this class will teach you the basics, throwback moves, lyrical hip-hop, and trends in Hip Hop dance. Students will learn dance and breathing techniques in a fun, air-conditioned and welcoming environment. No previous dance experience is required          15 maximum

2) Yoga Basics Saturdays 10:30am-11:30am   $10.00 fee for materials June 9 through July 7

If you believe you might benefit from a healthy body and calm mind, this class is for you! This yoga class will help you focus on being in the present moment while learning about helpful breathing, movements, and meditation. Prepare to build a fire within and stretch your body and mind while finding a deeper appreciation for yourself. No previous yoga experience is required. Yoga mat is included and you are able to keep the mat at the conclusion of the course.         15 maximum

3) Security Six Pack  Saturdays 9:00am-10:00am June 9 through July 7

From online data breaches to identity theft, we need to keep ourselves updated on how to keep ourselves safe and secure. During the “6” Saturday sessions we will cover; How Identity Theft impacts you, your children and seniors, Scams and Schemes, the Dark Web, Situational Awareness and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED)-including your home and surroundings. This class will teach you the basics to keep you, your family, and business safe from various threats.                                                                                                                    20 maximum

4) Social Media and Marketing Saturdays 10:15am-11:45 June 16, 23, 30, and July 7 Only

This course will help take your marketing strategies to the next level while leveraging social media. Whether you are trying to enhance your personal, professional, or organizational brand, understanding and implementing a successful social media plan can be the first step toward success. This class will teach the various social media platforms that are available and how to utilize them to your advantage. No previous experience in social media is required.       12 maximum


5) Computer Basics Saturdays 9:00am-10:00am June 9, 16, 23, and 30 Only

This course will help you brush up on basic computer skills and build your confidence in a variety of areas. This course will focus on how to use email, develop and a write a document, organize data, and integrate computer technology into presentation-style formats. No previous computer experience is required.                                                                                                         12 maximum


6) Basics of American Sign Language (ASL) 9:00am-10:00am June 9 through July 7

This course will serve as an introductory workshop to American Sign Language as it is used within the American Deaf community. The class will emphasize non-verbal communication as students learn basic vocabulary, sentence structure, facial expressions, signing parameters and other grammatical markers. Students will start to build basic expressive and receptive skills in American Sign Language that will be reinforced by a variety of activities. No previous American Sign Language experience is required
