It is a pleasure and privilege to welcome you to Chatfield College and the Chatfield College Web Site. If you are a new visitor to Chatfield, it is my sincere belief that you will experience the same warm and hospitable welcome that I have received since joining the Chatfield staff in 2009.
Chatfield is truly a wonderful place, where faculty, students and staff interact in a cordial and friendly manner within a professional, academic atmosphere. We are a little college, but BIG DREAMS COME TRUE HERE!
The Mission of Chatfield College is to empower students who might best succeed within our supportive, small college experience. Success is demonstrated through the achievement of established learning outcomes in a liberal arts education grounded in our Catholic heritage.
Chatfield awards Associate Degrees in Liberal Arts, with concentrations available in Business, Early Childhood Education and Human Services. Founded and sponsored by the Ursulines of Brown County, we welcome students of all ages, religions and backgrounds. Our classes are small, so you will receive a level of extra attention from instructors unavailable at most larger schools. Many of our students are adult learners, maintaining full-time jobs, so we are accustomed to designing academic programs to be flexible and meet the needs of our students.
Chatfield is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Chicago, Illinois.* We have established agreements with many four-year colleges, called Articulation Agreements, whereby credits earned at Chatfield are accepted by those schools towards a Bachelor’s degree. Many of our graduates have gone on to earn a Bachelor’s from Wilmington College, The College of Mount St. Joseph, Xavier University, the University of Cincinnati and many others. Our students may also stay at Chatfield for a third year of study, with additional credits also transferable to a four-year institution.
If you have always believed college was beyond your reach, or you simply became sidetracked by one of life’s unplanned circumstances, you owe it to yourself and your family to reconsider. A college education IS within reach at Chatfield, and we invite you to come visit and speak with an admissions counselor and financial aid specialist.
I look forward to meeting you at one of our campuses, in Brown County on State Route 251 just north of Fayetteville, or in downtown Cincinnati at our degree site located in historic Findlay Market one block from Central Parkway. See you at Chatfield!
Sincerely yours,
John P. Tafaro
