Sokoni Hughes Hired as Outside Admissions Counselor

February 11th, 2014

sekoni hughesSokoni Hughes has been hired as Chatfield College’s Outside Admissions Counselor.  Hughes is the newest member to the liberal arts college’s admissions team and will be recruiting students for the Findlay Market campus by visiting and building relationships with local high schools and organizations in the area.  He was an admissions work-study participant for three semesters and is currently completing his liberal arts degree with a business concentration.

“We were in a unique position to have access to a strong candidate with admissions experience, who is also a top tier Chatfield student.  Sokoni has a broad understanding of how to promote the strengths of Chatfield College and authentically describe the student experience,” said John Penrose, Director of Admissions at Chatfield College.

Chatfield College, with campuses in Over-the-Rhine and St. Martin in Brown County, is experiencing increased enrollment to such an extent that the College purchased 1544 Central Parkway as the future site of its OTR campus.  Located several blocks from historic Findlay Market, the permanent campus will replace the existing, rented space on Logan Street.

“It’s amazing how much Chatfield has grown, and it’s good growth. Increasing the number of admissions officers and student advisors allows us to serve students better and more effectively.  I’m looking forward to being here both as an employee and as a student,” states Hughes, a Carthage resident.
