Chatfield College to Hold Library Groundbreaking Celebration

April 17th, 2012 Chatfield College to Hold Library Groundbreaking Celebration

Chatfield College in St. Martin, OH will hold a groundbreaking celebration for The Father Raymond Kammerer Library Addition on Wednesday, April 25 at 2 p.m.  Refreshments will follow in the Mongan Academic Building.

The Father Raymond Kammerer Library addition was made possible by donations from Mark and Rosemary Schlachter, Father Raymond Kammerer, and other contributors.  When completed later this summer, it will house a truly unique collection of books and artifacts gathered over a lifetime by this teacher, scholar and author. Father Kammerer has agreed to begin the transfer of some of his collection to this section when readied with the intention of the college receiving the entire collection of some six thousand volumes and artifacts in the future. These books and artifacts have been used in his classroom teaching over a period of twenty-eight years at the College and continue to be used by him today in his role as a professor of history and political science at Chatfield.

Established in 1971, Chatfield College is a private, Catholic, liberal arts college offering the Associate of Arts degree in St. Martin and Cincinnati.  Chatfield is an open enrollment college and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.  Prospective students need only to have a High School Diploma or GED to attend and will be guided individually through the enrollment and financial aid application process.  The St. Martin campus is located at 20918 State Route 251; St. Martin, OH  45118. For more information about the Library Groundbreaking celebration, call 513-875-3344, ext 123 or email dolores.berish@chatfield.edu.
