Chatfield College hosts multicultural program

November 6th, 2012 Chatfield College hosts multicultural program

On November 6, 2012 Chatfield College hosted a library tea at their Findlay Market Campus, entitled “To Alaska and Back in an Hour”. The tea featured a multi-cultural experience as Sr. Cecilia shared her adventures as a missionary in northwestern Alaska among the Yup'ik People.

Copies of her book QUYANA, a tribute to these courageous people who shared their lives with her during her six years of ministry, were available.  Traditional African-American soul food, Alaskan dishes, such as Eskimo Ice Cream and Reindeer meatballs, as well as a traditional tea fare was served.

Sr. Cecilia's presentation was so well received by the Chatfield students and the community at large that an encore presentation has been requested and will be scheduled in the near future.

Funding for this program was made possible in part by the Ohio Humanities Council with support by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Pictures from the event can be viewed here.
