Chatfield College Submits Self-Study Report for Accreditation

December 16th, 2010

After more than two years of research and preparation, Chatfield College has finalized and submitted its self-study report to the North Central Association of Colleges' Higher Learning Commission for accreditation.

In March 2011, a team of four experienced educators from around the country will begin a three-day visit to meet with all of Chatfield's constituencies, including faculty, students, staff, community members as well as the Board of Trustees.  The Higher Learning Commission will evaluate Chatfield's ability to achieve its mission to empower students who might best succeed within its supportive, small college experience.

“Chatfield College's membership in and accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools is extremely important for the college and its students because it validates the quality of our programs. It is our accreditation that permits our students' credits from Chatfield to easily transfer to a four-year institution,” explains Roger Courts, Academic Dean.

Chatfield College last received accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission in 2001. Also a member of the Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges and Universities, credits earned at Chatfield are easily transferable to other accredited institutions. Chatfield College is authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents to grant the Associate of Arts degree, as well as to offer the third year of study toward the Bachelor's degree.
