Chatfield College Names Linda Stamm Scholar

February 20th, 2014 Chatfield College Names Linda Stamm Scholar

The second annual Linda Stamm Memorial Scholarship at Chatfield College was awarded to Nyeesha Smith, an exceptional student at the Findlay Market campus.

“Gaining knowledge is important to me.  That’s why I was so eager to start classes at Chatfield,” said Nyeesha. “and I am very honored to be awarded the Linda Stamm Memorial scholarship.”

Nyeesha is a 2006 graduate of Purcell Marian High School and lives in North College Hill.  She intends to graduate from Chatfield with a 4.0 GPA and transfer to Xavier University to earn a Bachelor’s degree in finance. In the future, Nyeesha plans to work as a financial advisor before ultimately becoming a licensed accountant.

The Linda Stamm Memorial Scholarship was established in the Spring of 2012 by many of her friends and neighbors. The scholarship will be awarded annually on January 21, Linda’s birthday, to a female student at the Findlay Market campus.  The recipient is required to be in at least her second semester, have a proven record of success, a minimum GPA of 2.0 and no disciplinary issues.  Interested students must complete a full scholarship application including three essays.

The Linda Stamm Scholarship is one of 23 endowed, named funds at Chatfield College.  An endowed fund awards the interest earned as a scholarship while retaining its principal balance in perpetuity.  To contribute to the Linda Stamm Scholarship fund, contact Steve Ranieri, Director of Development, or Wanda Hill, Associate Dean & Site Director, Findlay Market campus.
