Chatfield College Announces Articulation Agreement with Mount Vernon Nazarene University
April 25th, 2011
Chatfield College has announced an articulation agreement with Mount Vernon Nazarene University. This agreement ensures that students will have a smooth transition from Chatfield College to MVNU to receive their baccalaureate degrees if they choose to do so.
With this degree there are a wide variety of career options from Criminal Justice, healthcare, Public Policy to international affairs.
“This articulation agreement with the Mt. Vernon Nazarene Social Work program is very important to our Human Services students because many of them hope to be able to work under licensure as soon as they complete their Bachelor's degree," said Roger Courts, Academic Dean. "The MVNU Social Work program is approved in Ohio as preparation to sit for the Licensed Social Worker exam and become an LSW."
"Other Ohio Human Services licenses, such as Licensed Professional Counselor, require a minimum of a Master's degree" adds Courts. "Because the MVNU program is designed for working students with classes once weekly, it is a natural and convenient next step for our graduates.”
At Chatfield College, the curriculum is based on the liberal arts and leads to the Associate of Arts degree. In the root sense, liberal means free. Chatfield's broad-based program encourages each student to become more authentically free - by developing academic skills that build self-confidence and flexibility for life-long success, and by exploring a range of options to develop career choices. After all requirements have been met, students will then be able to transition with ease to MVNU to receive their baccalaureate degree in social work.
Chatfield College is a private, Catholic, liberal arts college offering the Associate of Arts degree in St. Martin and Cincinnati. Chatfield is an open enrollment college and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Prospective students need only to have a High School Diploma or GED to attend and will be guided individually through the enrollment and Financial Aid application process. The St. Martin campus is located at 20918 State Route 251; St. Martin, OH 45118. The Cincinnati site is located at 1800 Logan Street; Cincinnati, OH 45202.
